Harrison Ford, an incredibly experienced pilot, flies a variety of aircraft, but his primary cross-country jet is a 2009 Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign, registered as N6GU.
For years, the "Air Capital of the World" played host to this jet. Historically, Ford flew the Sovereign into Wichita, Kansas, to undergo recurrent simulator training at FlightSafety International, renewing his skills and keeping his certifications up to date. It became a reliable staple for local plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts.
But that long standing tradition has officially come to an end. The reason for the reroute? FlightSafety International relocated its dedicated Cessna Citation Sovereign simulator training out of Wichita. With the remaining Sovereign simulators in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta. Without the simulator in Kansas, Ford’s recurrent training operations had to shift to move to either Orlando or Atlanta.
We can see this new routine in the flight tracking data. N6GU logged a route from Los Angeles (HHR) directly to Orlando (MCO) on October 19, 2025. After completing his simulator block, the Sovereign departed MCO a few days later, heading up to Washington, D.C., on October 23, 2025.
The photographic evidence perfectly backs up the flight data. During his trip in late October, Ford was actually spotted inside the Orlando FlightSafety facility. An image captured by Mauricio Frizzarin placed the legendary actor right at the learning center.

While Wichita will undoubtedly miss its annual visit from Han Solo, the legacy of his time there is already being preserved. Filmmaker Graham High is currently in production of a new documentary titled Ford Comes to Wichita, which captures the unique relationship between the actor and the Kansas aviation community that welcomed him year after year.
